27th April — Daily Hope
The Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby, has launched a free national phone line as a simple new way to bring worship and prayer into people’s homes while church buildings are closed because of the corona virus.
Daily Hope, which is available from today, offers music, prayers and reflections as well as full worship services from the Church of England at the end of a telephone line.
The line – which is available 24 hours a day on 0800 804 8044 – has been set up particularly with those unable to join online church services during the period of restrictions in mind.
If you know anyone that this would be useful to, please pass it on.
I wanted to let you know that we are thinking of you at Bilston Baptist Church, and all our partner churches in the UK, at this time. I imagine your whole congregation will be facing new challenges and questions regarding how to meet, pray together, and encourage each other.
If there is anything we can do to help, or anything you would like prayer for, please don’t hesitate to get in touch. We’d love to know how you’re getting on!
If anyone from the church would like to join us for a webinar and communion tomorrow with Eddie Lyle, they would be more than welcome. You can register here: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/standing-strong-live-registration-101753900656.
Thank you all for your continued prayers and support for the persecuted church.

A message from the Deacons
28.03.20 This verse has spoken to a couple of us and we believe that God wants us to share this with everyone.Psalm 46 1-2, 9-11 Be Still to Take Refuge in God in Trouble “God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea… He makes wars cease… He says, ‘Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.’ The Lord Almighty is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress” (Psalm 46:1-2, 9-11).
A message from the Deacons
Our bible verse of the week:
He assures us, “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand” (Isaiah 41:10)
Have a blessed Sabbath day and Mothering Sunday! Although we are not together in person, we are together in our faith, love for our God and in prayer. Remember God is with us always and keep praying for one another. Let us say the Lords Prayer together:
Our Father, who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy name;
thy kingdom come;
thy will be done;
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation;
but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom,
the power and the glory,
for ever and ever.
Please contact us should you need prayer, information or any messages passing on.
God’s Blessings to you all,
Sheena and all the Deacons
To all at Bilston Baptist Church,
Thank you all for the lovely messages and bible verses I have received from you. I am praying for the sick but I would like to close with this chorus for you all:
Jesus knows all about our struggles; He will guide ’til the day is done

A prayer to share from a morning devotion. A Prayer for all Our Leaders:
All authority is Yours, but You have given authority to leaders to protect and guide us. Today, we ask that You would give all our leaders wisdom, discernment, strength, and resolve. Keep them healthy, safe, and rested so that they can continue to guide us through this troubling time.
Give our government leaders wisdom about what needs to be done to stop the virus and stabilise our economy.
Give our spiritual leaders Your discernment on how to meet people’s needs as they continue to glorify Your name and encourage the Church.
Give our medical leaders insight into how to stop the virus. Strengthen their resolve and honour their hard work in creating a treatment for COVID-19.
Give our civic leaders inspiration, courage, joy, and strength to meet the needs of their communities.
And help us, as leaders in our communities, to display courage, hope, generosity, and kindness. Would the way we honour others inspire those around us.
In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
Message on 24th March
I want to share the message of my daily reading with the prayer line –
“You can feel secure even in the midst of cataclysmic changes, through awareness of God’s continual presence … He never lets go of your hand…herein lies your security, which no one and no circumstances can take from you”.
The Bible ref is Isaiah 41:13.
Thought for the day
6th April “He will keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on thee.” Just think. Not any peace,’PERFECT’ peace.’ What a promise for today. “Stayed” is also a revealing word here, the image is that of being ‘lashed securely to a boat’s mast .’ You also don’t have to make his peace, God will give it to you. Jackie
4th April Dear All, I have been “dancing” in my lounge. How liberating! What joy! King David dancing before the ark of the covenant didn’t care who was watching, only God mattered. If ‘the joy of the Lord truly is our strength’ then, please do join me! Bless you all. Jackie
1st of April Dear All, Sometimes we focus on our goals or ultimate destination so much that we fail to realise that each individual one is vital to our final success. If a mountaineer didn’t concentrate on each one he wouldn’t reach the summit. So let us keep going one step at a time, that is all we can do and all God asks of us. Jackie
27th March Dear All, Try reading one of the memoirs of the Iran hostages Brian Keenan, Terry Waite or John McCarthy. I read them in or around my isolation with MRSA in 1993. To read of their survival, courage and at least one miraculous healing will I trust be encouraging & directly applicable to our current situation Jackie
26th March Dear All, Pretend you are on a desert island like ‘desert island discs’ on BBC radio 4. Your task is to choose 8 pieces of music/songs which are the most precious to you and why. As you also have a bible, you can pick 8 verses too. Memories are such nutritious food. Jackie
Love never fails’ What an amazing statement! Just think about it. It NEVER stops /lets you down.
Meditate on it’s implications. I am reminded of that lovely chorus “his love never fails, it never gives up, it never runs out on me.”
We could all do with repeating/singing this as a mantra today.
23rd March I will hold the Christ-light for you in the night time of your fear, in the night time of your fear.I will hold my hand out to you speak the peace, you long to hear. I will weep when you are weeping, when you laugh, I’ll laugh with you. I will share your joy and sorrow til we’ve seen this journey thru. Jackie
“Count your blessings” as the old hymn or mindfulness tenet teach. Write them down and at key moments or when you feel bewildered think on them. For those of you or faith rejoice in the Lord, dont forget his benefits.
